What we collect, what we use it for, who else sees it and what you can ask us to do about it.
Buzz Financial Services is a trading style of Equity & General Financial Services Limited, registered in England (03314593), head office 2 Charterhouse Mews, London, EC1M 6BB. That company is the data controller for the personal information handled in the course of giving you regulated financial advice.
For a privacy question, email hello@buzzfinancialservices.co.uk.
Your contact details and the content of your enquiry. If you go on to become a client, the information needed to advise you: your financial circumstances, goals, family situation, employment, existing policies and arrangements, and our record of what we discussed and recommended.
Some advice needs information about your health, which data protection law treats as a special category. We ask for it only where it is needed for the advice or an application, and we tell you why at the time.
To answer your enquiry, to assess and provide advice, to arrange products where you decide to proceed, to meet the legal and regulatory duties that apply to a regulated firm, to prevent financial crime, and to keep the records the rules require us to keep.
Depending on the service, your information may be shared with product providers, platforms, lenders and insurers where you decide to proceed; with professional advisers such as your accountant or solicitor where you have asked us to work with them; with the technology suppliers that run our systems; and with public authorities where the law requires it.
Our email platform is Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France). When you send us a message or complete a form, your name, email address and the content of your message go to it so that we can reply. That data is processed in the EU.
We do not sell your data.
Advice records are kept for as long as the FCA requires. For most advice that is at least six years after the relationship ends, and for some, such as pension transfers, it is indefinite. Enquiries that go no further are kept briefly and then deleted.
UK data protection law gives you rights over your personal information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection. Some of these are limited where we are required to keep records for regulatory reasons, and we will explain if that applies.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. Please come to us first so we can put it right.
Tell us what is on your mind: a pension you have lost track of, a fixed rate ending, a will you keep meaning to write. We will tell you honestly whether we can help.
