Aviva runs workplace pensions, a master trust, a personal pension and annuities. A workplace scheme's charge is agreed with each employer, and you can look up yours by plan number. Aviva's drawdown sits in its SIPP, and older with-profits plans can carry a market value reduction when money moves out.
Aviva Life & Pensions UK Limited, part of the Aviva group, authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the FCA and the PRA. Aviva also runs the Aviva Master Trust, authorised by The Pensions Regulator.
For a workplace scheme, Aviva sets the charge for each employer according to things like the number of members and contribution levels. It changes if you move out of the default fund.
Aviva publishes a lookup where members enter their plan number to see their own scheme's charges. Its drawdown SIPP charges 0.35% a year, including fund charges.
Older Aviva pensions may be in with-profits funds, which pay regular and final bonuses and smooth returns. When money leaves a with-profits fund, Aviva may apply a market value reduction, for example after a large or prolonged fall in markets.
No reduction applies on death or where a specific guarantee applies, and some pensions carry an MVR-free guarantee on your selected retirement date. Aviva recommends advice before withdrawing, switching or surrendering with-profits benefits.
Aviva will not accept a transfer into its SIPP of a pension with safeguarded benefits or a guaranteed annuity rate.
Aviva's own site says it makes no charge to transfer into its Aviva Pension, and tells people to check exit fees with the old provider. The FCA caps the exit charge on a personal pension at 1% for anyone aged 55 or over.
Checked on 2 October 2026 against aviva.co.uk, the FCA and The Pensions Regulator's list of master trusts. Phone numbers, charges and options change, so check the provider's own site before you act.
On a with-profits plan, the date you take the money can change how much of it you get.
It depends on your employer's scheme. Aviva's scheme charges lookup shows yours from your plan number.
A reduction Aviva may apply to the value when money leaves a with-profits fund, for example after a large or prolonged fall in markets. It does not apply on death or where a guarantee applies.

Any guarantee on an old Aviva plan needs checking before the money moves.
